Birthday Wishlist

So it's that time again, I'm turning 22 on Saturday! *deep sigh* I find I'm listening to Taylor Swift's '22'  more and more often as if to say it provides me with comfort... loooool. You may think i'm exaggerating, but ageing is so daunting to me, what's more daunting is me ageing without achieving all that I want to achieve. 

With that, I thought I would conjure up a list of things I definitely won't receive -but a girl can dream. :)

Why Do You Wear Make Up? #Tag!

Hello guys, happy April and happy Easter Monday! Hope you are having a fab time and spending the holidays with your loved ones :) I saw this tag a while ago and considered doing it back then, I don't really do much of these tagged posts (scared or boring you all to death lol) but I really should, it's a great way to get to know each other and I would love it if you would do the tag too and post your blog links in the comment box below, it would be amazing to see what everyone has in common with each other.

1. When did you begin loving make-up? 

Hmmmm, I have loved make up for a while, funny, I remember when I first wore make-up (it was only eyeliner). It was my 16th birthday and one of my close friends bought me eyeliner for my birthday, I absolutely loved it, but found it so hard to use, she did teach me and that was all I wore for the whole summer that year- eyeliner, lol. But I honestly thought that it transformed me, I felt invincible, haha! Then I got to college and was introduced to sleek eye shadows and that's literally all I wore for a whole year, bright eye shadows and eyeliner, it must have been an awful sight. It wasn't till I was 18 that I started wearing foundation and lipstick, my first lipstick was from The Body Shop as recommended by a friend, she told all of us and we all raced to Body Shop after college - it was hilarious.

I fell in love with make up 100% probably this time last year, I've always liked make up, but yes, last year is when the romance began and I started building my whole collection. 

2. How do you feel without make-up?

Absolutely fine, most days I go without it actually, I don't have spot prone skin and it is more clear than it is congested so I'm usually fine. It could be a bit more even toned however. The main and probably only reason I hate going without make up is that I look like a walking throwback. Spookily young. We all laugh at our throwback pictures and so forth but i honestly still feel like I look the same lol, I haven't changed, I think it's just my make-up that has.

3. What do you like about make-up?

It's like art isn't it? The ability to enhance your beauty firstly, it really annoys me when boys (see how I didn't say men lol) bash girls that like make-up, it's so pretty! I don't think it should be used as a mask to create something new but I do think it should be used to to enhance beauty. I like how it can change the angles in your face - through contouring especially. I also love how you can see personalities through make up, if you're an emo, a goth or a girly girl, make up expresses that.

4. Three 'Holy Grail' items;

Choosing three is VERY hard lol, I love basically everything in my collection, hmmmm....

March Bits and Bobs

Hey guys, so it's been a while since I did a haul I hear you say? Not to worry! I think this one is a good'un! I have been a bit of a spender this month, but most of these were bargains so that's the best part! Some of these were not actually purchased, hence why the title doesn't say 'haul'.

First in, Lady Gaga's Viva Glam,
I didn't actually get to try these on before I chose it, so it was a bit of a risk, when I saw these two, I thought they may be close to 'Angel' Kim Kardashians fav' and 'Honey Love'... They aren't. lol. But it's nothing a bit of lip liner won't fix, I do not however recommend this (for black girls anyway) it's really clear by wearing it, they were not made for darker skin tones.

Next in, Clinique's Turnaround moisturiser, I copied my close friend actually, her skin has improved dramatically since using this and their '3 Step' so I thought I'd give this a go, it was on my wish list and when I saw the moisturiser in this set for the same price of the moisturiser alone, I thought 'bargain alert!!'

You may remember my mascara review post a few months back and Clinique's high impact was number 2, well I really love it now, occasional clumping but the pro's outweigh the cons so I'm staying loyal to this one, I do love Benefits one but this one gives a bit more volume.

Also, when you purchase two items or more from Clinique, you get a free gift, this was the Boot's gift, my favourite out of them all, I was very excited to try the rinse off foaming cleanser as I heard so many positive reviews about it and so far I actually do love it.

After watching youtube video from one of my fav beauty vloggers 'MsRoshPosh' I decided to finally take the leap into purchasing a gel liner, I originally wanted to try MAC's Blacktrack but I have heard so many negative views about it, in the video, MsRoshPosh who is a MAC Makeup Artist said she uses the L'oreal infallible liner, I tried everywhere in the UK and it seems like they don't sell it here, I then came across the L'oreal Superliner Intenza which has exactly the same packaging as the infallible. The sales girl in Boots said that they are the same but sometimes have different names in different countries for marketing purposes.

I still don't know how to use it though -_-

I didn't actually buy this, I won it from work! At first I wasn't that excited because I have a Macbook and an iPhone, it just seemed like 'Apple' overload and I am not sponsored by them so why do I need to advertise so much? lol. I love it now, it's so handy, I take it everywhere, especially because of the Diary app, I am so organised now.

Some ASOS bits, I am particularly excited bout the chunky bracelet!

The Ben Nye Final Seal spray is amazing so far, I will give you a full review this weekend when I have really tested it out properly.

Last but not least, these beauties from River Island, I wasn't particularly interested in Rihanna's collection when I went to purchase something from there but I did come across these (not the clearest picture sorry)

Wings & Peach Recap

You may remember  few posts back where I was complaining that I didn't know how to do a wing with my eyeliner, well, I have been practising... I am not the best but ah well, lol. I just thought I would share with you some more pictures that inspired me and also a picture with me and the eyeliner. 

In that same post, I also mentioned that I was looking for a particular lipstick, well I purchased Vegas Volt by MAC as recommend to me and I still think it is a bit too bright. I have always had Velvet Teddy and I just reached for it this week and realised that THIS is the lip colour I have been looking for lol!

(I am NOT naked by the way, lol, it is just a boob tube I wear when I am indoors)

Products Worth The Hype

Hey guys! Believe me or not, the week or so I've spent away from the blogsphere hasn't been fun, I have missed you guys!!! I havent had the greatest week, but I just thank God through all things, I spent last week in hospital as I had surgery, there were a few complications with the surgery so I had to spend two nights in on a ward....(boring lol), now I am semi well and recovering but I cannot wait to go back to work!! (never thought I'd say that lol), with that I also missed Fashion Week :( I apologise to the PR companies that took the time to send me the lovely invites and I look forward to catching you guys in September. 

Since I did a post on products that were poor value for money, I thought I'd tell you about some products that are definitely worth the hype!

1. Ben Nye Banana Powder - I love this powder ever so much and I still wonder how I lived without it before, it is actually amazing!

2. MUA Eyeshadows - these bad boys are so cheap and cheerful, I love them. I would say they are good value for money but they are beyond that, these two little pots were £1 each from Superdrug and they are so pigmented.

3. MAC's Paint Pot - I love this product by MAC, I am not entirely sure what it's actually supposed to be but I use it in different ways, I usually use it as a base for my eye shadows as it helps the colour to stick and appear more pigmented and most importantly LAST, it also acts as a colour on its own too.

4. Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb - my favourite fragrance after Chanel

5. MAC Lipsticks - Yummmmm, you can come to me and slate MAC about anything, but if you slate their lipsticks it's WAR. They may have some colours I hate (like Morange which I highlighted in an earlier post) but they have such a massive range with a variety of finishes that there is guaranteed to be something for you.

6. Smashbox Primer - I just love the velvet feel, the texture, the longevity... I'm sold.

7. Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel - I use this before my make up and I love how matte it turns, especially because I have oily skin.

8. L'Oreal Superliner - I got sold into this nearly four years ago after hearing the hype and buzz about this eyeliner online, there probably are better eye liners out there but this is just all I know, lol #Loyal

10. Clinique's High Impact Mascara - I did do a comparison post, this mascara was on of my favourites, I love the fact that it works with me, I get both volume and length, Its fantastic.
