J. Cole keeps Hip Hop alive! |
Then he disappeared... </3
I moved on and went back to Drake, I almost lost faith in him but saw him pop up a few times like in Beyonce's "We Like To Party" replacing Andre 3000....
... But that wasn't enough for me, if you know me I love music just as much as I love beauty, I'm always trying to hear whats new and I like a variety. So when J. Cole went missing (to record this album of course) it's like I kinda forced myself to get bored of him.
My brother purchased Born Sinner when it came out, he used to play it loud in the house (it runs in the family lol) and I was being stubborn acting like I didn't care for it, didn't want to listen to it and blah blah. I was a bit disappointed from Kanye's Yeezus so I didn't want to hear similar things from J. Cole so I left it. However, the songs were so catchy; I even heard myself singing along to "Crooked Smile" featuring TLC when usually I have to to listen to a song like six times before I can rate it or fully relate to it. He came back and took it back (in my humble opinion) I felt a sense of nostalgia, he was rough, passionate had music you could sway to but it was still real, it was him and he was telling his story, his struggle.
I have to rate it 9/10
I could be biased so have a listen yourself.
My gift to you is a few of my favourite songs from Born Sinner, below:
